High Expectations
Setting high expectations across the board for all of my students is extremely important. Even though everyone has different abilities, everyone is held accountable for maximizing their own learning.

Outstanding Content Knowledge
As an educator, you must have a thorough understanding of the content and your curriculum standards in order to differentiate and meet students where they are. This allows me to plan engaging lessons and activities that bring students up to the appropriate level for their grade and required testing.
BIOLOGY TABOO
The purpose of this game is for one student to get their group to guess the word at the top of the card without saying any of the words listed below the line because those words are “taboo”. This encourages the student to get the rest of the class to think critically. This activity can be used to facilitate a student’s review of Biology vocabulary words as well as to reinforce their memory of each Biology concept.

DNA UNIT PLAN
This unit shows careful planning of content that has been aligned to state and school curriculum standards. In addition these lessons were planned with with the students' interests in mind which is evidenced with an engaging review activity before the test (trashketball). The mutations analogy seen in the slideshow and documents above was also used as an activity for remediation to further break down the importance of reading frames in mRNA during the process of translation.
