Modeling poise, maturity and sound judgement means taking charge to share my skills, expertise, and ideas for the benefit of my students and my colleagues.
To help my students succeed, I offer opportunities for remediation and enrichment outside of the regular classroom hours. I stay after school four days every week to tutor students experiencing difficulty in class or looking for additional opportunities with the material. I have also planned and lead a daily intervention period that reached all students enrolled in Biology 1. After spring break I also planned and orchestrated the bootcamp activities for half of the students enrolled in Biology 1 in preparation for the upcoming standardized test. During this time students completed hands on activities to reinforce important concepts.

To help other educators succeed, I have worked closely with other science teachers and non-science teachers developing resources and problem solving. I also designed the curriculum for Intro to Biology and modified the curriculum for Biology 1 to better suit the needs of my students.
Of course I am always sure to follow the code of ethics as an educator in Mississippi.
