Teaching Philosophy
I believe one of the most important roles of education is the potential for it to be an instrument of social change and progress. Entering the teaching profession has provided me with an unparalleled opportunity to change lives by creating educational opportunities, improving communities, and promoting sound values. As educators it is our mission to instill a drive and passion to excel in our students. In order to accomplish this we strive to make learning fun, make hard work the norm, and we make success attainable. We show our students that hard work yields positive results.
I strongly believe that school should be an extension of real life experience. If students can relate what they learn in science, history, or English class to their everyday experiences, then they will value their education. Moreover, I believe that our fundamental success as educators depends on the impact we have on students both academically and beyond the classroom. Intangible things such as increased confidence, determination, self-worth, making better decisions, and a desire to improve one’s community are equally as important as academic success.
